Add on: Gatherer

found this guide how you can improve the use of gatherer!

Hi and welcome to my first guide for this website. I´m a long time viewer, first time contributor.

(Disclaimer : I did not find another guide like this in this section. It may have been posted before, if it has. I appologize)

Now then, we all know the feeling of running around in circles around some area farming some precious herb/mineral/somethingortheother and how random it feels. Might there be some money to be made by straying from the popular farming paths or is your time better invested by going in the same circle as always before?

Well.. To help alleviate some of those worries I have written the following guide on how to streamline your gathering process with the use of addons to create a easy to follow path for you to follow.

Addons needed:
Gathermate (A very nice gathering addon similar to gatherer).
GathermateDB (A database of coordinates to nodes).
Routes (The meat and potatoes of this guide).

After we download these addons and load them up in world of warcraft (By putting the required folders into your ../wow root/interface/addons/ folder and enabling them in your character screen) we are ready to get up and running.

What to do?
When you are in the game type /routes to get the following screen up:

Click the image to open in full size.
This is the control screen for Routes. On your left hand side you will see a few options. Lets click on "Add" to bring this screen up:

This image has been resized. Click this bar to view the full image. The original image is sized 770x726.
Click the image to open in full size.

As you see I have selected to name my route "StrangIron" as I was farming iron at this point. I choose "Stranglethorn Vale" as my farming spot and tick off a few options on what I want to farm. Here I selected Iron, Silver, Gold, Mithril and Truesilver (Even tho I use minerals here, this works for herbalists as well) and then click on "Create Route". After this is done you can go into your map and you will see the following :

Click this bar to view the full image.
Click the image to open in full size.

Nasty, isnt it? Its like a spiderweb. Well this is because the Routes addon has not processed the points yet. It has just written a temporary path on the map screen which is not something you might want to follow unless youre, well, strange.

Lets go back into our Routes addon screen again by typing /routes and selecting Routes -> Strangiron (or whatever you named your path earlier) -> Optimize Route, to see these options:

This image has been resized. Click this bar to view the full image. The original image is sized 760x702.
Click the image to open in full size.

This screen deals entirely with optimizing your route (as the title might suggest). First we "cluster" our route. This effectively makes it so that the path becomes optimized so nodes within 60 units of each other are "clustered" to make the path shorter. If two nodes are near to each other the addon puts the path point straight in the middle of them instead of making you go to each one individually. This takes only a couple of seconds to finish but the result will be much more pleasing.

After you have done this, press the "Backround" button.

This image has been resized. Click this bar to view the full image. The original image is sized 762x692.
Click the image to open in full size.

It is recommended to use the "background" instead of "foreground" buttons because the foreground use pretty much stops anything else in the game from running until the path is optimized. Since this might take a few seconds there is a risk you might be disconnected so we use "background" instead. It takes longer, but it is safer.

Click the image to open in full size.
After you click it this pops up in your chat. Give it a little time and eventually you will see:

Click the image to open in full size.
which means it is done.

If you go into your map now you will see:

Click this bar to view the full image.
Click the image to open in full size.

There! This is much more like it. A nice smooth path around the area optimized for faster gathering. All you need to do is follow the white line on your minimap and pick up whatever shows up.

Click the image to open in full size.

This method works by far best in outlands or northrend where you can fly between points since the addon might put a obstacle or two in your way (fx, a mountain) that might be hard getting over on the traditional landmounts. In cataclysm I expect this will be less of a issue since you will be able to fly in all of azeroth.

I hope this helps someone (and if a repost at least refreshes some memories).

Thank you.

Karazhan farming

Sooo i found this guide in the interwebzzz :> works pretty awesome as a paladin tank!

Hey again,

As from a few days ago there is a wow vid on WCM on how to farm 1KG/h.
This is the vid: Farming 1000+ gold an hour as a rogue. By Jammno - World of Warcraft Movies
.

Me:
However, as I found out on my druid. I went to Karazhan and farmed the packs without any healing aspect and gotten over 1KG/h aswel.

I have 5150GS in my tank gear, so not that high.
I have 44K HP and lose perhaps 3K HP per run... So ain't realy hard.

What to do:
- The room infront of Moroes: 3 packs
One pack of non elites in the middle
One in the bottom right corner
One in the top right corner

-Moroes room: 3 tables
Just run through the bigg table, throw something at the right table and charge to the left one, tank all mobs in corner and aoe them down, butlers won't always agro when running through.

-The first room upstairs, before opera event:
2 packs of non elites, the ones closest to stairs, and in the middle, u can just drag those to the edge of the platform.

-The opera event room:
Just run through the left pack, charge to the right and tank them in the corner near a pilar.

-Getting the gold:
-> The mobs drop between 47s and 95s ea
-> Just loot everything, vendor all gear (or DE them if you rlly want). As you can see in the vid, there is a vendor just outside the gate of Kara.
-> Use the 'Netherweave Cloth' to make 'Netherweave Bracers' and DE them. -> Arcane Dust sells for 75G/Stack and Greater Planar for 18G/ea on my server so...

Have fun ! Good luck gold farming.

~ 1000g/hour with this!

This guide involves Essence of Air.
It sells for quite a good amount on the Auction House if you are not an enchanter. On my server 20g. Or when there are none in the AH I put them in there for 30-35g each. You can get much more if you ARE an enchanter. If you see that your scrolls are not selling as an enchanter then go ahead and just sell the essence of the AH. Still good money. Read below for more info:

AT THIS POINT YOU NON ENCHANTERS WANT TO SCROLL DOWN TO THE BOTTOM OF THE THREAD WHERE I EXPLAIN HOW YOU MAKE GOLD EVEN IF YOU DO NOT ENCHANT. YOU WILL STILL FARM ESSENCE OF AIR. LOOK AT THE MAP OF SILITHUS OF WHERE TO GO TO FARM THEM.

Alright so on with the guide. What you want to do is farm Essence of Air.You guys all know that there is a demand for pre-BC enchants for the new heirloom stuff, such as 30 spellpower, crusader, etc. In this guide we are going to go for 15 agility. If you do not have this enchant, it is now VERY easy to get after the reputation gains have been quadrupled. To get this enchant you need to be honored with Timbermaw. Here is how to do that:

_____________________________________________________________

1. Go to Felwood and accept Timbermaw Ally (1400 rep) from Grazle (51.0, 85.0). Complete this quest by killing the Deadwood mobs in Felpaw Village to the southwest.

2. Take Speak To Nafien (100 rep) from Grazle (51.0, 85.0) and take Feathers for Grazle which is a repeatable quest.

3. Go back to Felpaw Village and kill more Furbolgs. You receive 20 reputation for each Deadwood Furlbolg you kill, in addition, Chieftain Bloodmaw gives 60 reputation.

4. Turn in feathers you get for easy extra reputation. After you hit honored, go buy the agility enchant formula from the Timbermaw Quartermaster Meilosh. (He is in the cave in north Felwood).

____________________________________________________________

Alright so you want to kill Dust Stormers in Silithus

Lets do some math:

Flying to Silithus from Org: 5 minutes
Going around killing them: 10 minutes
Total time so far: 15 minutes
Wait for them to respawn: Another 5 minutes
Go around killing again: 10 minutes
Total time now: 30 minutes

After 30 minutes I have 16 Essence of Air in my bags. Depending on your luck you will have 12-20 Essence of Air in your bags.

It takes 4 Large Brilliant Shards and 4 Essence of Air to make ONE 15 agility enchant. Buy the 4 Large Brilliant Shards on AH. On my server they go for about 2-4g each. But go ahead and buy them for even up to 10g and you will still profit. Put the 15 agility to weapon on a Weapon Vellum, Weapon Vellum II, or Weapon Vellum III.

Remember I got 16 Essence of Airs. I got enough for 4 of these enchants. I bought 16 shards and enchanted 4 15 agility to weapon onto 4 Weapon Vellums.

So Now I have 4 Scrolls of 15 agility to weapon after 35-40 minutes. Now what? SELL!!!!

______________________________________________________________

FINAL MATH

35 minutes of work as shown above.
4 15 agility to weapon scrolls.
250g each scroll on my server.
250*4=1000g in 35 minutes.
Please note again, this is not instant gold, you must wait for a buyer. When I said 35 minutes I meant 35 minutes of work that you did.

Why did I say up to 1250g in 35 minutes or as low as 750g? Because depending on your luck you will get from 12-20 Essence of Air within those 30 minutes you go to farm them. This is 3-5 scrolls. Meaning 250*3=750g or 250*5=1250g

PROOF OF SALES:
Some bastard price cut the scroll value by 50g!! and made me post at 194g!! but still very good profit with little work. After all .. I bought the 4 large brilliant shards for about 14g or something .. 184g - 14g = 170g profit here.

Click the image to open in full size.

______________________________________________________________

FOR YOU NON ENCHANTERS
Instead of making these into enchant scrolls, you are going to simply sell these on the AH for money. On my server these go for 20g or you can put them in for 30-35g if none are in there.

Now lets do some more math ( I love math )
So you got 12-20 Essence of Air within 30 minutes.
12 Essence of Air * 20g each = 240g in 30 minutes
or
20 Essence of Air * 20g each = 400g in 30 minutes

This means 240-400g in 30 minutes!!.

Quick Money with Chunk of Boar Meat (server dependant)

Hello, some of you may know that chunk of boar meat Chunk of Boar Meat - Item - World of Warcraft sell for a good amount of gold on SOME servers. On mine I am able to sell a stack of 20 for over 25, and decided that I wanted to capitalize on this. So I went to durotar and started posting in general "Paying 1g a stack for Boar meat PST! need a bunch to level cooking" and got 4-5 whispers almost instantly. I then took the stacks I got (6) and sold them on the auction house between 20-26g per stack (I buy undercutters and just resell theirs)

1000g / hour with this route!

Found something nice today, look at this:

THE GOAL: The overall goal with this guide is to make you gold (200g per hour Minimum up to 1,000g+ per hour depending on your sever and auctioning skills) without going out of your way or spending too much time doing so. This method takes less than an hour to do and works best when your doing it on a schedule. For example, I do it every morning and every evening. Keep in mind, this method isn't for mindless farming and spending hours and hours a day doing it. This might make you lose money in the long run actually. My goal with this guide was to provide you with an HOUR long routine to add to your daily schedule instead of another failed method that will waste your time.

THE METHOD: To put it simply, LIMITED SUPPLY ITEMS. I want to get this out of the way now, "YES, Limited Supply Items have been around for years and everyone knows about them." In most cases, this is true. But really, I bet if I took a survey for all members on MMOwned, I bet MAYBE 10% of them use limited supply items in their daily routine with this volume of profit (I doubt it is even that high). I have known about them for 5 years now and have just recently been putting them to use. For some reason, I thought it involved camping vendors, spending hours traveling ect. I also thought it was really stupid to buy something for 40 silver and sell it for a few gold. But the reality is, the profit margins are much more extreme, more than they ever were. With more people having more gold to spend, they are willing to buy these items without thought because they are either lazy or in a rush. So, for a few weeks I started looking up the items and starting going to the vendors. At first, I wasted a lot of time. But then thought, why not just throw it into my daily routine and just do it for an hour. So with trial and error, I developed this route for limited supply items. Keep in mind, these videos are for the Alliance side. But you can use these principles to make your routes and if I get enough support, I'll make a horde version

Icecrown farming up to 1500g/hour

Here is a nice cideo, that shows you how you can farm up to 1500g/hour with killing mobs and selling the drops. Best class for this is a Paladin ( tried it with my mage but it isn't as fast as with the paladin).

Love is in the air!

Now that the new event started on live realms, is a great opportunity for us to get some easy money!

At this time of the event everyone is looking for lovely charms, because theay need it for achievements or whatever. GOOD for us! You can farm those bad boys in seconds if you know how.

So what you are going to do is:

1. EMPTY your bags
2. open a raid
3. go to Ulduar
4. farm the first trash with the vehicles
5. go back to OG
6. sell this stuff
7. WIN

I made 3k gold on the first day of the event and the demand for this items is still very high!

JC Goldmaking Trick

Soooo let's go with something easy if you need fast money. If one of your profession is JC than you can use this method:

Buy all stacks of these ( max. 20g/stack):

- Stacks of Sun Crystal
- Stacks of Bloodstone
- Stacks of Huge Citrine

Buy all Stacks of Eternal Earth ( max. 100g/stack)

Now do this:

1. Break the Eternal Earth into Crystallized Earth
2. Craft Bloodstone Band, Crystal Chalcedony Amulet, Crystal Citrine Necklace
3. Sell all of the crafted stuff to a NPC
(3. If you're entchanter, you can disentchant it too and sell it in the AH)

You now will get a min. profit of 1g14 per piece for doing almost nothing!

Heeeeello world!

And good evening everyone!

So this is my first Blog, I wanted to create this to share some nice goldmaking techniques for the famous World of Warcraft with you guys and maybe learn some more myself! If you find any bugs or whatever just write it into comments, I'm new to this stuff and just wanna play around a bit.

Let me introduce myself:

My name is Christian M., I'm 20 years young and live in the beautiful southern Germany. Besides World of Warcraft I love to play guitar ( but I play it pretty bad, just started with it some months ago ;)),shoot some photos of nature stuff and of course METAL Music!

I'm playin in the World of Warcraft since the late Beta and tried tons of stuff to get rich, it all started when I hit 60 in classic and wanted to get an epic mount which was pretty expancive back in the days (think 800g). So I started to grind mobs for runecloth and sold it in the AH...
As the time went by, I found out some tricks with buy & sell stuff and so I made my first big gold then.

Nowadays I don't make this much gold because I just don't need it, but if I would want it, I could make it reaaaaally fast to the goldcap (about 214k).

What I'm trying to say: if you want to make some easy gold, than just pay attention to this blog, I will write as often as I can and show you some pretty cool stuff, FOR FREE.

Oh and sorry my English sucks pretty hard I think.

So long ;-)
